Built for those who served. Recovery doesn't stop at discharge.
Red light therapy for service-connected pain, sleep, and recovery — about 25 minutes from the Fort Lee gate. 10% off with valid ID.
What we offer service members and veterans
RedLight Freedom serves active-duty service members, veterans, and military families in the Fort Lee area with whole-body red light therapy for service-connected pain, joint stiffness, sleep disturbance, and recovery. 10% off all sessions with valid ID (military, veteran ID card, DD-214, or state ID showing veteran status). HSA/FSA eligible. First session $99.
What red light therapy supports
Evidence-grounded help for the chronic load veterans carry.
Chronic pain
Service-connected joint, back, knee, and shoulder pain from years of PT, ruck marches, parachute landings, and load-bearing. Red light at 630, 660, and 850 nanometers reduces inflammation and accelerates tissue repair at the cellular level.
Sleep quality
Roughly 57% of Iraq and Afghanistan-era veterans report clinically significant insomnia. Red light, unlike blue light, doesn't suppress melatonin — making a late-afternoon or evening session sleep-friendly.
Recovery from physical training
For vets staying active, working toward VA fitness goals, or training competitively. Photobiomodulation reduces creatine kinase markers and shortens post-exercise recovery time.
Skin and sun damage
Years of sun and environmental exposure during deployments adds up. Red light stimulates collagen synthesis and supports skin barrier repair — separate from medical care for any precancerous lesions.
Why veterans choose RedLight Freedom
10% off with valid ID
Veterans, active-duty service members, and retirees get 10% off every session — first visit and ongoing. Show your ID at any visit and we apply the discount automatically. Military ID, veteran ID card, DD-214, or state-issued ID showing veteran status all accepted.
Drug-free, non-pharmaceutical
No NSAIDs, no opioids, no prescriptions. A complementary tool that fits alongside your VA care, medications, or PT — not instead of it.
HSA / FSA eligible
Red light therapy sessions often qualify as HSA- or FSA-eligible expenses with a Letter of Medical Necessity (per IRS Publication 502). Many post-service civilian employment plans include these accounts.
15-minute sessions
Get in, get the dose, get out. No prep, no downtime, no recovery period. Works around tight schedules.
To stay honest with you
Red light therapy is a wellness tool. It supports the cellular and tissue-level work your body is already trying to do. It is not:
- A treatment for PTSD or any mental health condition. That work belongs with your VA mental health team or a qualified clinician.
- A treatment for TBI. Emerging research in transcranial photobiomodulation exists, but the whole-body Prism Light Pod is not designed for that indication.
- A replacement for VA care, prescribed medications, physical therapy, or any care plan you're already on. Use this alongside the rest of your plan.
- Anything that affects your service-connected disability rating. Red light therapy is wellness, not clinical treatment — using it doesn't reduce or impact your rating.
If chronic back, knee, or shoulder pain — or sleep that doesn't reset — is what you're working on, and you want a non-pharmaceutical option to add to what you're already doing, this is worth knowing about.

Frequently asked questions
Will red light therapy affect my disability rating?
No. Red light therapy is a wellness practice, not a clinical treatment, and it doesn't reduce or affect service-connected disability ratings. You're not "cured" because you used it. You're using a tool that may help with comfort and recovery alongside your existing care.
Does the VA cover red light therapy?
The VA does not currently cover red light therapy. Many veterans use HSA or FSA funds with a Letter of Medical Necessity from a licensed provider (per IRS Publication 502). Check with your plan administrator before assuming eligibility.
Can I use red light therapy with the medications the VA has me on?
In general, yes. Red light therapy is non-pharmaceutical and doesn't interact with most medications. A note on safety: some medications increase photosensitivity (certain antibiotics, retinoids, St. John's wort, some SSRIs). Bring your medication list at your first visit and we'll walk through it. Always loop your VA care team in on any new wellness practice you're adding.
How quickly will I notice a difference?
Most clients describe feeling looser and warmer after the first session. Real changes in chronic stiffness and pain usually start showing up within the first 3–4 weeks of consistent twice-weekly sessions. Sleep improvements often follow on a similar timeline. Give the protocol 4–8 weeks before judging it.
How do I get the veteran discount?
Show your military ID, veteran ID card, DD-214, or state-issued ID showing veteran status at any visit. We apply the 10% discount automatically — first visit and ongoing. Family members of active-duty service members are also eligible on the service member's account.
