The Basics

The scientific term is Photobiomodulation (PBM). Specific wavelengths of red and near-infrared light are absorbed by your cells’ mitochondria (the “powerhouses”). This helps them produce more ATP, which is the energy currency of your cells. This increased energy supports your body’s natural processes for healing, recovery, and rejuvenation.

Red light therapy (RLT) pods and tanning beds are very different. RLT does not use harmful UV rays. It emits specific red and near-infrared wavelengths, which are non-ionizing and non-invasive. It also does not tan your skin.

Results can vary based on the condition being treated and your individual response. Some people may see improvements within a few sessions, while others might take several weeks of consistent use to notice significant changes.

Many red light therapy devices are FDA-registered for general wellness. Always verify device credentials with your provider.

Prism Light Pod & Results

Prism Light Pod is a fat loss treatment that allows clients to target areas of stubborn fat. It is non-invasive and can target the abdomen, thighs, arms, and face at the same time. Results can be seen after one session, but multiple treatments will yield optimal results.

Prism Light Pod emits red light that targets fat cells just under the skin. It stimulates the mitochondria of the fat cell which generates a signal that opens the transient pores of the cell wall, resulting in a release of the contents of the cell: triglycerides, fatty acids, glycerol and water. The fat cell deflates much like a balloon that is emptied of its air volume.

Most clients experience 2+ inches lost from the very first session. Multiple sessions are generally recommended in order to achieve a drastic transformation. Results may vary from person to person.

Once the fat has been released from the fat cell and exited the body, it’s gone. However, if unhealthy diet and exercise routines persist, new fat may be stored where the old fat contents were released.

Everybody has a different starting point and different personal fitness goals. Based on how your body responds to your first Prism Light Pod session, a personalized fat loss program with a recommended number of sessions to achieve your desired goal will be discussed.

Not at all, it is non-invasive & totally painless. There is no burning sensation, and treatment is 100% safe. Most clients compare it to taking a warm & relaxing nap. The only discomfort you may feel is being sore the following day, similarly to having a good workout.

Some users report improved metabolism and reduced inflammation, which may support weight loss. However, RLT is not a substitute for diet and exercise.

Results vary by individual and depend on baseline measurements, hydration, sleep, and adherence to diet and exercise. Red light is a supportive therapy, not a stand-alone weight-loss treatment.

Your Session

Red light does not penetrate clothing. To maximize results, it is recommended to be fully nude or in minimal clothing. At a bare minimum, the skin you wish to treat should be fully exposed. Rooms are private.

The feeling of the heat in the Pod can be compared to a nice warm 80-degree day. A fan is attached to the Pod to help keep you comfortable, and you can control its settings.

Yes, makeup, contacts, and eyeglasses are fine. However, please avoid sunscreens or moisturizers that contain zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, as they can block the light.

While RLT is safe for the eyes, most people prefer to keep their eyes closed for comfort. You will still receive benefits to your eyes as the light can penetrate the eyelids.

Yes, you can wear headphones or earphones. To maximize your session, search “Prism Light Pod” on Spotify or Apple Music for a guided meditation that explains the benefits of RLT.

Safety & Cleaning

Yes, we disinfect the Pod between each patient using EPA-approved cleaners. Your health and safety are our top priority.

While it is unnecessary, you are welcome to use the disinfecting wipes provided in the room. Please do NOT bring or use your own cleaner as it may damage the equipment.

While RLT is safe and non-invasive, minor, temporary side effects can occur, including mild redness or tightness of the skin. If you experience any adverse reactions, please stop treatment and contact your physician.

The Pod tests completely free of EMF (electromagnetic field) waves.

There is a two-way call button in the room. Please press this button, and a team member will assist you immediately. A gown is provided in the room to respect your modesty if needed.

If you have mobility issues, you are required to bring someone to assist you with dressing or undressing and getting in and out of the pod.

Special Considerations

RLT cannot be overdone. Unlike many other health treatments, red light therapy is safe to use every day, is non-invasive, and has virtually zero risks and side effects.

Yes, please continue to use your at-home device. You cannot overdo RLT. We recommend using your at-home device when you cannot make it into the office or for travel.

Due to a lack of research, we do not recommend RLT during pregnancy. However, RLT has been shown to help with a number of postpartum issues. Please consult with your physician first.

Yes, children can use the Pod with parental informed consent.

Yes, RLT can be safely combined with other treatments such as physical therapy, topical medications, and skincare routines. It can enhance the effects of other treatments and aid in faster recovery.
